The Philippe Model Paris brand has its roots in the creative genius of the French designer and artist of the same name who has earned himself a leading position amongst the great names of fashion in the world. Philippe Model was only 22, in 1978, when launched his brand and started to work with the most important couturiers in French fashion, including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Claude Montana and the creator of hats best loved by film stars, Paulette. The consecration came in the early 1980s with his first iconic shoe, the Elastique, which became the symbol of a modern femininity anticipating the revolutionary concept of comfort of the future sneakers. In 1983 the first Philippe Model boutique was opened in the very central Place Marché St Honoré in Paris. In the early 1990s, as well as at the head of his own brand, he was also Artistic Director of some of the most famous fashion houses of the time, from Inès de la Fressange to Lanvin, Kenzo and Dior. 2008 marked the encounter between the creative flair of the French designer and artist Philippe Model and the excellence of Italian expertise. The exclusive know-how of the craftsmen in the Riviera del Brenta district, not far from Venice, and above all the decision to launch the first collection of sneakers designed by Philippe Model Paris crowned the success of the association between the French fashion house and Italian design. In 2016 the brand inaugurates a further path of international development through the acquisition by 21 Invest, an Italian private equity fund headed by Alessandro Benetton and oriented towards the long-term growth of the companies controlled through the contribution of industrial and financial skills and a network of international relations. The ambitious growth plan at global level started by 21 Invest includes establishing Philippe Model as an iconic brand in the accessories segment and the opening of prestigious stores in the world’s most important capitals. Alongside the elegant Parisian showroom, in 2017 the brand opened a new headquarter in the heart of Milan’s fashion district, in Via Bigli, just a few metres from the first Italian flagship store, opened in May of the same year, in Via Sant’Andrea 17. Together with the Milan opening, in 2017 Philippe Model Paris developed important partnerships in Europe and in the rest of the world, while for the 2018, the brand opens the boutique in Paris, 22 rue de Grenelle, in Saint Tropez, in Lyon and in the heart of Rome, in Piazza di Spagna, as well as boosting strategic areas such as the USA and Asia, where it opened one new boutique in Korea and four in China
